Help Build Barclay's New Playground

Barclay Elementary/Middle School is building a playground! We need more than 100 volunteers from the Barclay School, Harwood, Abell, Better Waverly, and Charles Village communities to help give more than 500 area kids the childhood they deserve by building a new playground.

Date: Wednesday, May 23, 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Location: Barclay Elementary/Middle School, upper playground, 2900 Barclay Street

  • Volunteers should be age 18+ and will assemble playground pieces, mix concrete, move mulch, etc.

  • Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and closed toe shoes; leave valuables at home.

  • Gloves, goggles, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.

Play is central to a child’s ability to grow into a productive adult. Together, we can ensure that kids get the play they need to thrive! Please join us and show that play matters to you. RSVP at https://www.tfaforms.com/4666864 or contact Andy and Laura at 443-687-9840 or lscott822@gmail.com.

Before the build day, please come to the playground on Saturday, April 28 during the Mayor's Spring Clean-up to help clean the space. Meet at the entrance to the 29th Street Community Center, 300 E. 29th Street, at 10 a.m.
