Barclay School Mini-Grants

The Abell Improvement Association (AIA) is pleased to offer a Mini-Grants Program for teachers at the Barclay School. These modest grants (up to $250) are intended to help meet the costs of educational programs or projects not typically covered by the school’s operating budget or other funding sources. It is hoped that these funds will enable Barclay’s teachers to provide enriching and innovating learning opportunities for their students.

How to Apply

To apply, teachers must complete the one-page Application Form.

Teachers may apply for one grant per semester. Applications will be reviewed by the AIA’s Mini-Grants Committee on an ongoing basis as they are received. There is no deadline for the applications; they may be submitted any time during the school year.

Please note: applications must include a proposed budget for the project.

Applications will be reviewed promptly and applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision quickly. Funds for approved projects will be disbursed within 30 days of the receipt of the application. Payments will be made directly to the applicant (teacher). Funds are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Requirements for Applicants Receiving Funds

By accepting the grant funds, teachers agree to provide ‘feedback materials’ that demonstrate how the funds were put to use. These materials should include a brief (100 words or less) written account of how the project was carried out, as well as any supporting materials (photographs, student reports, etc.) the teacher deems relevant. This feedback is important as it will enable the AIA to gauge the success of this program and will help in our efforts to renew - or expand - funding in the future.

Questions should be directed to the AIA Mini-Grants Committee members Lauren DiMartino (laurdimartino@gmail.com), Andrew Limbong (andrewlimbong@gmail.com) or Joann Robinson (jooiman64@gmail.com).
