Hi Everyone,
Below is a list of 3(!) fantastic volunteer opportunities that we would like our volunteers to fulfill if they can, especially if you have not been matched with a neighbor yet or haven't been connected to another program yet. Do not feel like you need to do all of them, but please do at least one that suits your capacity and interest. Don't hesitate to ask the contact or us a question.
1) Call Local Restaurants: We are asking our volunteers to call local restaurants to donate prepared meals for folks living in temporary hotel housing associated with our ongoing food collaborations. We can pick up the meals wherever and distribute daily before 11am (m-f). Preference for hot meals. We recognize this ask is vague but we are trying to gauge the willingness of partnering restaurants. Any restaurants you can think of in the area, please do give them a call and pass along the info. 2) Douglas Homes and the Reverend Annie Chambers need more hands on deck for volunteers to distribute and pick up food for Douglas homes. If interested please contact 410-996-4848, text preferred.
3) Truck Connection. One of our requestors is in the process of moving and we are looking for someone who has access to a truck. We had volunteers gather items for this person last week so it would be really wonderful to have this support. Her moving date is May 23rd. Please contact abellcovid@gmail.com if you can assist.
