Our traditional Memorial Weekend Picnic is on Sunday, May 24, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Open Space on 32nd Street between Abell & Guilford. The AIA grilling team will offer hot dogs and burgers (meat and vegetarian). Bring a beverage, side dish or dessert to share with your neighbors.

A few volunteers are needed to help set up and to take a shift at the grill. We also need a few folding tables. Please sign up to help here or contact Jaclyn Mahoney - mahoney.jdp@gmail.com.

Note: Rain date is Monday, May 25

A Memorial Weekend picnic sounds like a much-needed pause. As a PhD student who works part-time at Last-Minute Assignments, I remember missing a similar gathering during a crucial exam period and feeling so disconnected. I was so buried in work that I'd frantically search Complete My Programming Assignment just to have a free Sunday. It's a gentle reminder to actually show up for the people and moments that matter. Thank you for this. Cheers.

The picnic event article felt very relaxed and enjoyable because it showed how community time can bring people together outside of work or study pressure. During a similar busy phase, I once thought about pay someone to do my class for me while planning a family outing and trying to balance coursework. It reminded me that life feels better when you manage responsibilities and still make time for small breaks.

I liked reading about the Memorial Day weekend picnic because community events like this give people a chance to relax and spend time together. Last year, I was trying to take my Myob assignments while helping my family plan a small holiday gathering, so the idea of sharing food and enjoying simple moments really connected with me. Posts like this remind me that taking a break and being with others can be just as important as staying busy. Lifestyle
